More lovely comments in today - thank you!
“Super holiday in every respect. We loved the scenery and geography and abundance of flowers. It was all so peaceful and dividing the holiday between three islands made it feel like three holidays. The people were friendly and welcoming. Food excellent but lacked vegetables. Often one meal was plenty for two people. A great trip right from planning to doing and remembering. thank you for your help throughout.”
Mr & Mrs Birkmyre (Sao Miguel, Faial & Flores – 12-26 June 2010)

“Just to thank everyone who made the trip so enjoyable – Jake, Ian and all the team in the Azores. Everyone seemed to do their best to be helpful and make the trip as enjoyable as possible for us. It is greatly appreciated and we will certainly sing your praises to everyone we know who wants to make the trip to such a beautiful place with so much natural flora and fauna to see and enjoy.”

With 4 guided walking trips running this year, we are getting lots of lovely feedback from you all. Here are a couple more that have just come in :
“The guide – you could not have wished for anyone better, he made it! An excellent holiday, we enjoyed it, would recommend it and will go back again some day. Thank you for arranging it so professionally.”
Mr & Mrs Maslin (12-26 June 2010)

“Our guide deserves a special mention for all his hard work, attention to detail and his genuine concern for everyone. His unfailing enthusiasm for and love of the Azores made our holiday all the more enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed his picnics and the opportunity to sample local produce.”

A lovely email from some of our guests on our June guided walking holiday….

Dear Archipelago Azores Team,
Ann and I just got back at the weekend from your 14 day walking holiday. Thanks for arranging such a great trip. We loved the hotels, the walks and of course the islands. I think you got a great balance with the walks giving a variety of scenery and an essence of the islands. The hotels were great and we really enjoyed the transfers with the flights and ferries really adding a positive effect to the holiday.

A special note has to be made about the guide Nuno - this guy was fantastic, his knowledge and enthusiasm was great. He took on the challenge of looking after the 12 people and gave it 110%!!
W
e will definately be heading back there in the future.

Best Regards,
Anthony and Ann Green

One of our clients sent in this hilarious translation from a hotel menu (no names) on Sao Miguel :
“To this day, I don’t know what I would have received if I had ordered “larded and stewed pope’s eye with feather of pig!”"
Mr &  Mrs F, London (22-29 September 09)

Also, a lovely comment from a honeymoon couple this summer :
“This holiday was our honeymoon, so it had to be special. As you can imagine we considered many locations and companies along the way, but you came out on top. Every aspect of the holiday lived up to expectations and we have many happy memories of our time in the Azores to put alongside those of our wedding day. We look forward to returning.”

Hi Ian
I must tell you what a wonderful time we had in the Azores. Everything was a delight. Could have been nearer to the harbour and the Dive Centre, so next time, and there will be a next time, we’ll organise something a little closer.
Faial is a very special place and great that it is off the radar as far as other Brit tourists (I’m sure you’d rather it wasn’t!) But we had a marvelous time.
A special word about Tiago and Dive Azores. I found him extremely competent, helpful and organised. Being in Faial, none of the dive operations are up to the standard of more popular destinations such as Red Sea and the Med etc., but Dive Azores really tried hard with what they have at their disposal. They have a good boat, which Tiago is fastidious about. And he especially is keen to accommodate any dive site requests. In particular, in was very interested in diving a site 45 km to the south (Princess Alice Bank). The weather patterns meant it could only be dived the day before I flew home. Strictly speaking, as you know I’m sure, this day should be a ‘no dive day’ due to the body ‘off-gassing’ nitrogen. But, because of my Nitrox certification (enriched air), we sat down together and worked out different mixtures/depths so I could make the trip and be clear to fly home. It was a magnificent dive- as you’ll see from the film he made.

When you get home, pour yourself a glass, click to full screen and make sure the volume is turned up, sit back and enjoy. We were all very privileged to experience these 2 dives.

Thank you for all your help, I’m sure we’ll return soon. I hope this is helpful.

Yours sincerely,
Clive & Tricia
