As Cape Verde increases in popularity, with its white sand beaches and fantastic winter climate, more flights are planned for this coming winter. Thomson are putting on a flight from BRISTOL to BOAVISTA running every Tuesday from November 2011 to April 2012 and Thomas Cook will be operating a new flight from MANCHESTER to BOAVISTA every Friday from November 2011.

As well as enjoying the beaches and the sunshine, Boavista offers lots of other activities including windsurfing, kitesurfing and quad biking. A great way to get around this island is to hire a jeep and explore its dirt roads and discover oases, enormous dunes and deserted villages and beaches.
Loggerhead turtle babies, Boavista
Boavista is also a nesting site for Loggerhead turtles and every year, from late May to September, more than 3,000 loggerhead turtles come ashore on Cape Verde’s beaches, particularly at Ervatao beach, the third most important loggerhead nesting site in the world after sites in Oman and Florida. A visit to this site is fascinating and you can learn about the important conservation project taking place there.
