You'll visit the beautiful fertile Paul valley, walk in the high pinnacled and barren landscape with its miraculous terraces, see grogue factories, maybe eat papaya from the tree, and contour the coast with its pounding breakers. This is a very flexible itinerary and our guide will assess which walk is best for which day depending on weather conditions and your fitness and interests.

Accommodation in twin share, en-suite rooms on a breakfast only basis throughout (dinner is included at Casa das Ilhas and Hotel Pedracin), return airport transfers on Sal, Sao Vicente and Santo Antao, ferry tickets to Santo Antao, 1 x return inter-island flight per person, 5 x guided walks with transfers and lunch, visas, island representation, and air ticket reconfirmation. PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE LIMITED NUMBER OF GUIDES ON THE ISLANDS THERE MAY BE OTHER PEOPLE WALKING WITH YOU.

International flights (we will look for the best flight for your chosen date of departure). Meals not specified above and insurance. Additional excursions on free days.

There are lots of different international flight options to Cape Verde, so whenever we give you a flight quotation, we will quote you the cheapest and most appropriate available price.

Day 1 Arrive Sao Vicente. Transfer to Hotel Porto Grande

You will be met in Sao Vicente airport and transferred to your hotel in Mindelo (15 minutes).

Day 2 Ferry to Santo Antao. Guided Paul valley walk (4 hours : Grade - Easy)

Today you will be transferred to the ferry terminal (5 minutes) for your ferry to Santo Antao (1 hour). On arrival at Porto Novo, you'll be driven up to Cova de Paul for your spectacular walk down through the fertile plantations to your accommodation in the Paul valley. Your luggage will continue on to your accommodation.

Day 3 Guided Paul valley walk (4-5 hours : Grade - various)

The Paul valley is beautiful and green peppered with plantations of sugar cane and mango, papaya, breadfruit and eucalyptus trees. There are various walks around the valley and you and your guide can decide which will suit you best.

Day 4 Guided walk to Pedracin Village (5-6 hours : Grade - medium to difficult)

Today you are transferred to the start of your walk for what must be one of the most varied and spectacular walks on the island. The walk meanders up and then out of the Cha de Pedras valley before skirting beneath the ridge with views of the incredible steep terraces on the barren mountainside. As you descend into the valley and your accommodation, the scenery changes completely becoming green and populated.

Day 5 Guided walk to Espongeiro (4-5 hours : Grade - medium)

This uphill walk is beautiful with views of Ribeira Grande with its high craggy sides as you climb towards Espongeiro at 1200m.

Day 6 Guided walk from Cruzinha to Ponta do Sol (4 hours : Grade – Medium)

This coastal walk follows a well used cobbled path winding in and out along the coastline with a few ups and downs -some of which are quite steep. Along the way you pass through small villages and a sandy beach (take your costumes!).

Day 7 Ferry to Sao Vicente. Fly to Sal.

Today you will be transferred to the Porto Novo (90 minutes) for your ferry to Sao Vicente (1 hour). On arrival you will be met and transferred to a hotel with use of a day room while you wait for your flight to Sal. On arrival in Sal you will be transferred to your accommodation in Santa Maria (20 minutes).

Day 8 Transfer to airport. Depart Sal.

Today you will be transferred to the airport (20 minutes) for your return/onward flight.
