Away from the beach resorts and the better known islands, Cape Verde is an archipelago of dramatic beauty and cultural vibrancy. With its warm all year round climate, direct flights from the UK and beautiful beaches, it is quickly becoming a popular holiday destination but most visitors do not venture beyond the main island of Sal and fewer still take advantage of the wealth of activities possible.
At Archipelago Cape Verde, we have worked hard to offer you the widest and most flexible range of activity, cultural and family holidays to the quieter, more interesting islands. You can go canyoning on Santo Antão, try kite surfing and wind surfing on Sal, quad bike across the dunes on Boavista, take guided walks on Fogo and Brava, have a Capoeira dance class on São Vicente and mountain bike the rugged tracks of Santiago. We offer 4 and 7 night holidays to each island so you can add two or more itineraries together or, if none of them are quite what you want, then do call one of our experts and we can plan a holiday just to suit you.
Our philosophy right from the start, though, has been to give back to the islands. They are still developing and there are obvious social and economic problems which you will notice when you visit. We are currently contributing to five projects, details of which are on our Responsible Tourism page.
This is a fascinating and beautiful destination but there are several aspects of Cape Verde that travellers are often not fully aware of before they travel :
